You've probably seen home improvement shows that praise the worth of duct tape, but you may not have seen any practical applications that you, the bachelor of the house, can put to use.
But you'd be surprised to learn the extent of this magical grey tape, and the vast number of uses you can apply this to in your own bachelor pad.
It's pretty obvious that the stuff can be used to repair a torn cushion, or mend a shredded sofa, but did you realize that you could actually make pillows out of duct tape using a plastic bag filled with toilet paper? Now, the end product might seem a tad sticky when you've completed wrapping it in layers of duct tape, but once you tuck that sucker into a pillow case, who's going to know the difference?
Mending table legs and chair backs are also useful applications for duct tape, but if you can't afford simple items such as place mats, you can make them out of slices of cardboard wrapped in, you guessed it, duct tape.
Who needs a first aid kit full of bandaids, when just one small piece of duct tape can patch up your cut or scrape? Who needs to glue that broken lamp when you've got a sturdy role of duct tape to do the job? And why would you waste money on expensive weather stripping to block out the cold when a few strips of duct tape can do the same job cheaper?
With a little creativity, you can even turn paper lunch bags into duct tape oven mitts! Or turn that tape into a heavy-duty shower curtain. The possibilities are almost endless! Sorry...I always get a little excited whenever I find a way to laugh at Joe Domicile and his domesticated ways. We're not going to be shopping at Linens 'N Things anytime soon I gather.
See now, with all that money you'll save using duct tape, maybe you won't have to get the McDonald's Value Meal the next time you decide to dine out!
Stay single, and stay smart!
