1.1lt (2 pints) Common Stock
450g (1lb) Bread Crusts
50g (2oz) Butter
Salt, to taste
Boil the bread crusts in the stock with the butter.
Beat with a spoon and keep it boiling until the bread and stock are well mixed.
Season with a little salt.
Time: Half an hour.
Sufficient for 4 persons.
